Congratulations to the Vincent Massey Trojans who won the WWHSHL Championship title tonight. The Vincent Massey Trojans won game three against the Shaftesbury Titans (3-0), to win the CTV Division 1 final playoff series and the Championship Title. Goals were scored at: Period 2, 12:50 by 8-Jaeden Borgford, 20-Taylor McDonald, 6-Emma Pales; Period 3, 15:14 by 17-Ashley Hantscher, 4-Tayrn Gaulke, 13-Stephanie Molloy; and Period 3, 9:04 PP by 9-Kennedy Tachinski, 2-Breanna McLennan, 18-Genevieve Houghton.
The Shaftesbury Titans also had a strong season finish as the regular season first place team and the Division 1 Championship Finalist.

CTV and Winnipeg Free Press Division Finals are underway with what could be deciding games in both divisions tonight. In the CTV Division, the second ranked Vincent Massey Trojans lead the series against the first ranked Shaftesbury Titans 1-0, after winning game one 2-1 in overtime. In the Winnipeg Free Press Division, the sixth ranked Garden City Gophers lead the series against the fourth ranked JH Bruns Broncos 1-0, after winning game one 2-1.

In game one of the CTV Division Championship Finals tonight, the Vincent Massey Trojans beat the Shaftesbury Titans 2:1 (OT) and lead best of 3 series 1-0. Shaftesbury Titans goal (1st period, 7:07): Taylor Woodward, assisted by Emily Fraser. Vincent Massey Trojans goals (3rd period, 3:33 and 4th period 4:31) – Emma Pales, assisted by Taylor McDonald and Kyla Ryplanski.

The results are in! In the CTV Division A semi-final series, the #2 ranked Vincent Massey Trojans beat the #3 ranked St. Mary’s Flames in game 3 to take the series 2-1. A full out effort by the #5 ranked CJS Olympiens was not enough to hold of the #1 ranked Shaftesbury Titans, who won game 2 with a score of 2-1 and the series 2-0. The top ranked Shaftesbury Titans and Vincent Massey Trojans will complete for what is sure to be an exciting race for the CTV Division A and WWHSHL Championship title in the final best of 3 series starting March 9.
CTV Division: Congratulation’s to Shaftesbury Titans’ Haley Proteau for her outstanding offensive play in her team’s two wins this week. Haley started the week scoring 1 goal and 3 assists against the Selkirk Royals (7-4); and although off the score sheet in her second game, she was a dominate in her forecheck and on ice presence against the Vincent Massey Trojans (5-0). Haley finishes the season with 25 points.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Sturgeon Heights Huskies’ Annaliese Meier for her performance this week. Annaliese scored 1 goal and 2 assists in her team’s win against the Miles Mac Buckeyes (4-3) and the only 2 goals in her team’s loss to the Beliveau Barracudas (5-2). Annaliese has 60 points for the season.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Shaftesbury Titans’ Emma Klippenstein aka Iron Woman for 50 minutes of straight end to end play against the Westwood Warriors this week, leaving the ice at the end of period 2, and still managing to score 2 goals and an assist in a brilliant display of stamina and focus. As we end of the first half of the season, Emma is the leading team scorer with 20 points.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Beliveau Barracudas’ Jenna Fisette who scored a hat-trick in a very tight and hard fought game this week against the stubborn West Kildonan Wolverines, including the tying goal late in the third period of the 4-3 win. As we end of the first half of the season, Jenna is the leading team scorer with 24 points.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Shaftesbury Titans’ forward Emily Fraser, who scored 2 goals and added an assist in her team’s 8-0 win over the Oak Park Raiders. Emily was swift with the puck in all zones and extremely dominant in the offensive zone. Emily has 8 points for the season.
WFP Division: Congratulation’s to Sturgeon Heights Huskies’ goaltender Mercedes Ward, who backstopped her team to two wins this week. Mercedes started the week with a 23 save shutout performance in her team’s 5-0 win over the SJR Eagles. In the final game, she made 22 saves, and showing great rebound control, closed the door in overtime to secure her team’s 3-2 OT win vs. Miles Mac.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Shaftesbury Titans’ Taylor Woodward, a skilled forward who helped her team rack up six points this week, scoring a single goal in the 3-1 victory over the FRC Centurions and 2 additional goals in the 3-0 victory over the reigning champion Dakota Lancers later in the week.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Glenlawn Lions’ Riley Stephanchew, a star power forward who was on a roll this week scoring a hat-trick in the 4-1 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines, then scored an additional goal in a barnburner three days later in a thrilling 2-1 victory over the powerful Selkirk Royals.
CTV Division: Congratulations to SMA Flames’ goaltender Danielle Bonot-Schmidt. Danielle had one of her strongest performances this season, back stopping her team to one of two wins this week. She battled through traffic, controlled her rebounds well and stopped 24 of 26 shots, many with high degrees of difficulty.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Shaftesbury Titans’ goaltender Sara Cusack, who back stopped her team to a 2-0 record this week. In game one, Sara made 23 saves early in the 5-2 win, and then she stood on her head in a hard fought 3-2 win stopping 42 of 44 shots.
