Hire Marketing Division: Congratulations to Sanford Sabres power forward Julianne Zoppa, who had a hot hand in October. In her team’s 5-0 win over the West Kildonan Wolverines, she potted 1 goal and added an assist. She also had 2 helpers in her team’s 7-4 win over the Glenlawn Lions, and finished off the month scoring 2 goals in her team’s 5-0 victory over the Kildonan East Reivers. This brings Julianne’s point total to 7 points so far this season.
CTV Division: CJS Olympiens’ scintillating Paige Collins who scored 2 goals against the reigning champion Dakota Lancers in a hard fought 5-5 overtime tie; and added 2 assists later in the week to help her team beat the Oak Park Raiders 3-0.
Winnipeg Free Press Division: Sanford Sabres’ outstanding forward Haley Bound who scored 2 goals and 1 in the Sabres 6-0 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines; and three days later scored 1 goal and an assist in their 3-1 victory over the SJR Eagles.
CTV Division A Congratulations to SJR Eagles’ prolific forward Sarah Hnytka who helped her team to a 5-1 victory over the CJS Olympiens, scoring four goals including one on the powerplay, one even strength and two short-handed, as well as notching an assist.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Sanford Sabres’ goalie Jamie Maes who held a hot hand as she stopped all 26 shots in regulation time and 6 shots in the shootout to lead her team to a 1-0 victory over the Miles Mac Buckeyes this week.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Sanford Sabres’ Lauren Legault (#8) who played with heart and soul in this thrilling 3-2 win over the St. Mary’s Flames. Lauren scored two goals, fore-checked, back-checked and never gave up.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Julia Ortiz (#44) who was a tenacious checker and great play maker, scoring 2 goals in the last 4 minutes of the game to eke out a 3-2 win over the Beliveau Barracudas.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Sanford Sabres power forward Madison Erb who scored 2 goals and assisted another, helping her team beat the Vincent Massey Trojans 6 to 3. Madison played a smart, calculating game, deftly controlling the play during each shift on the ice.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Garden City Gophers’ Alannah Raposo, who despite her team’s 4-3 loss to the Lorette Scorpions, never gave up. Scoring late in the third period she brought her team within one goal. With a tie in sight, Alannah showed the grit and determination that stars are made of, fighting hard for another right to the final horn.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Leanne Kukelko of the Sanford Sabres who played very strong defense, made great passes, and played with significant hockey- intelligence to help her team win a 4-2 victory over the St. Mary’s Flames.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Louis Riel Voyageurs’ Kariana Durupt who played head and shoulders above any other player in her team’s 2-1 victory over the St Norbert Celtics. Kariana set up the beautiful winning goal, back checked, fore checked and won most of her face offs.
