CTV Division: Congratulations to CSHC Huskies’ Ashley Ross who scored a goal in their heartbreaking 5-3 loss to the FRC Centurions. Two days later, refusing to settle for anything less than a win, Ashley scored 2 crucial goals – one at the 4:54 mark of the 3rd period to tie the game and a blistering shot with 1:02 remaining securing the Huskies’ 3:2 win against the Oak Park Raiders.
Winnipeg Free Press Division: Congratulations to Beliveau Barracudas’ Kailey Penner who’s talent and determination repeatedly denied her opponents a glimpse of the net, ensuring a 3-1 victory over the CLC Scorpions this week. Paddle down and glove ready, Kailey stopped 25 – many highlight reel worthy – shots in this gripping and hard fought end to end game. #wwhshl
The Huskies have gone PINK in a big way this year, turning their Annual Hockey Classic tournament into a very special breast cancer awareness and fundraising event! The Huskies will be wearing special order PINK team jerseys for all tournament games – and – fans can purchase a limited edition PINK Husky Hoodie to support the cause and cheer them on. Gate admissions and 50/50 and hoodie sales from the Huskies games will go the Breast Cancer Foundation, along with all of the proceeds from hoodie sales and any pass the hat donations received throughout the week/weekend.
The opening Huskies game will be PINK fire on ice as they challenge the Beliveau Barracudas. Come to the MTS Iceplex, Thursday, October 23, 12:30 PM to cheer them on and support a great cause. CTV Division A Congratulations to CSHC Huskies’ Ashley Ross who was outstanding in the League openers. Ashley was a powerhouse in her team’s 6-1 victory over the SJR Eagles scoring 3 goals and assisting on the other 3. Her performance continued the next day, scoring another goal in her team’s win over the Springfield Sabres (3-0).
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Westwood Warriors’ Nikki Lillies who was instrumental in her team’s 6-2 victory over the CLC Scorpions, scoring 3 goals and assisting on one more. Later in the week, Nikki also scored a goal in her team’s tight 4-3 victory over the Sanford Sabres.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Meagan Sawyer, CSHC Huskies # 35, who’s outstanding goaltending helped her team retain a 1-1 tie against the SJR Eagles by stopping a breakaway goal late in the game. Two days later, Meagan made 20 stops in her team’s 3-1 win over the St. Mary’s Flames.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Kristen Winter, Westwood Warriors #7 forward, who’s commanding performance, with 3 highlight goals and an assist, secured her team’s 7-2 victory over the CLC Scorpions.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Jeanne Sauve’s Julia Ortiz for being this year’s first star in the CTV Division. Julia came out flying and scored 2 goals and assisted on another to help lead her team to a 4 – 1 victory over a strong Dakota team.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Breanne Yozenko of the Sturgeon Heights Huskies for being this year’s first star in the Winnipeg Free Press Division. Sturgeon Heights played a tenacious Lorette team with Breanne scoring 2 short handed goals and an assist in helping lead her team to a 6-4 victory.
