College’ Lorette Collegiate is a Gr. 9 -12 school located in hockey hot bed Lorette Manitoba. The school draws from 4 feeder schools located in Lorette, Ille des Chenes and Ste. Anne. The Scorpions Lady hockey team has been in existence for 7 years, all have which had them competing in the B Division, except for one deviation (so far). In 2015-16 they were moved to the A Division after defeating Miles Mac for the B Division Championship in the 2014-15 season. The Lady Scorpions have been and always will be an awesome bunch of young women to coach.
CTV Division A: Congratulations to Oak Park Raiders’ Sydney DeBrouwere whose smooth effortless skating controlled the game from her defensive position in their hard fought 4 to 1 win over the CSHC Huskies. Sydney scored the opening goalto set the tone for the rest of the game.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to CLC Scorpions’ Reilli Howden who worked hard to score 1 goal in their narrow 3-2 win over the Sanford Sabres, and who 3 days later scored another goal in their 5-4 shoot out victory over the powerful Lord Selkirk Royals.
CTV Division A Congratulations to PCI Saints # 11 Nicole Laramee who scored 2 goals in her teams hard fought 3-2 victory over the VMC Trojans this week. This play-off caliber games saw both teams play with intensity right down to the final horn.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to CLC Scorpions #4 Nicole Levasseur who played a pivotal role in her team’s 4-2 victory over the CJS Olympiens this week, scoring 2 unassisted back-to-back goals.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Vincent Massey’s # 10 Shyan Elias who was on fire as she battled hard, scoring her team’s lone goal in a thrilling loss to 2:1 loss to CJS. The next day, Shyan was instrumental in her team’s 3 to 3 tie against Oak Park, scoring 1 goal and assisting on 2 others.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to the Lorette Scorpions’ # 8 Kendall Smith, whose contributions both offensively and defensively led to a 1 – 0 victory against the SJR Eagles, despite playing with only 8 skaters.
