CTV Division: CJS Olympiens’ goaltender Caroline Girardin who posted a shut out and allowed only one goal in her second game of the week leading to her teams two wins. Caroline made key saves at key times to to help preserve her teams leads.
WFP Division: WWHSHL congratulates Selkirk Royals’ goaltender Shayne Smellie who made 34 saves in her team’s lone win this week. Shayne finished the week 1-1 showing great poise in both games.
CTV Division: CJS Olympiens’ scintillating Paige Collins who scored 2 goals against the reigning champion Dakota Lancers in a hard fought 5-5 overtime tie; and added 2 assists later in the week to help her team beat the Oak Park Raiders 3-0.
Winnipeg Free Press Division: Sanford Sabres’ outstanding forward Haley Bound who scored 2 goals and 1 in the Sabres 6-0 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines; and three days later scored 1 goal and an assist in their 3-1 victory over the SJR Eagles.
CTV Division A: Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Ryann Bannerman who played a huge role in her team’s series victory over the River East Kodiaks. Ryann’s standout performance in game one saw her stop 18 of 20 shots for a narrow 3-2 victory over the Kodiaks, followed by a shut out in game two, where she stopped all 32 shots that came her way.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Beliveau Barracudas’ Shayna Laramee whose star performance helped secure her team’s 2-1 series victory over the Shaftesbury Titans. The star forward scored one goal in game one, a 2-1 loss; another goal in game two, a 2-1 victory; followed by two additional goals and an assist in game three, a 4-2 victory over the Titans.
CTV Division A: Congratulations to CJS Olympiens Brielle Dacquay-Neveux, who’s adept play created a number of break out opportunities, and who’s remarkable goal gave her team the lead late in the game, helping them to defeat the Kelvin Clippers 3-2.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B: Congratulations to Miles Mac Buckeyes’ Olivia Roch, who shut out the Sanford Sabres by making some incredible saves and stopping all 29 shots faced to secure her team’s 3-0 victory.
CTV Division A Congratulations to SJR Eagles’ Sarah Hnytka who epitomized ‘fire on ice’ this week, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists to help her team beat the Sanford Sabres 6-1, and scoring a hat-trick the next day to claim the Eagles’ hard fought 3-2 victory over the West Kildonan Wolverines.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Genevieve May whose hot hands helped her lead her team to back-to-back victories over the CLC Scorpions this week, scoring 4 goals in a 8-2 win on Tuesday, and then adding 1 goal and an assist in a 4-2 game on Wednesday.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Oak Park Raiders’ #9 Sydney DeBrouwere, who was a one woman defensive wall in her team’s game against the Sanford Sabres this week. Sydney prevented the Sabres from entering her defensive zone while on shift, and managed an assist as well.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ #5 Emma Onchulenko, a dominant force in her team’s game against the St. Norbert Celtics. In what turned out to be the crucial play of the game, Emma threaded a pass through the neutral zone which secured a 2:2 tie!
CTV Division A Congratulations to Sanford Sabres’ Lauren Legault (#8) who played with heart and soul in this thrilling 3-2 win over the St. Mary’s Flames. Lauren scored two goals, fore-checked, back-checked and never gave up.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to CJS Olympiens’ Julia Ortiz (#44) who was a tenacious checker and great play maker, scoring 2 goals in the last 4 minutes of the game to eke out a 3-2 win over the Beliveau Barracudas.
CTV Division A Congratulations to Jeanne Sauve’s Julia Ortiz for being this year’s first star in the CTV Division. Julia came out flying and scored 2 goals and assisted on another to help lead her team to a 4 – 1 victory over a strong Dakota team.
Winnipeg Free Press Division B Congratulations to Breanne Yozenko of the Sturgeon Heights Huskies for being this year’s first star in the Winnipeg Free Press Division. Sturgeon Heights played a tenacious Lorette team with Breanne scoring 2 short handed goals and an assist in helping lead her team to a 6-4 victory.
