CTV Division: Congratulations to SMA Flames’ Alexa McFadden who was on fire this semi-final series, guiding her team to 2 straight wins over the powerful CJS Olympiens. In the first game, a 3-2 thriller, Alexa was a dominant force on the ice, fore-checking and back-checking with skill; and in game two, another 6-5 thriller, she popped in 2 goals, one on the power play. The SMA Flames advance to the Championship Finals, where they will take on the Dakota Lancers, last season’s League Champions! Gear up – and cheer your favourite team to Victory. WFP Division: Congratulations to Miles Mac Buckeyes’ Riley Lapka who was a spark plug on the ice, electrifying her team in this semi-final series against the SJR Eagles. Riley pocketed 1 goal and an assist in a game #1 nail biter (2-1); and then secured the Buckeyes’ victory in game 2, scoring the winning goal in an even more thrilling 2-1 victory. CTV Division: Congratulations to VMC Trojans’ Taylor McDermot (goaltender) for an outstanding performance and remarkable turnaround. In the first game of the quarter final series, Taylor stopped only 12 of 18 shots; and in the next 2 games, both 2-1 victories over the FRC Centurions, Taylor stopped 27 of 28 shots and 33 of 34 shots respectively, advancing her team to the semi-final round.
WFP Division: Congratulations to CLC Scorpions Kendall Smith (forward) who led her #7 ranked team to two straight victories over the #2 ranked Sanford Sabres. Kendall scored the only goal in a thrilling 1-0 game #1 victory, and then scored another goal and an assist in a nail-biting 3-2 game #2 victory, securing a spot for the Scorpions in the semi-final round.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Westwood Warriors’ Emma Mitchler who had an outstanding performance in the qualifying series against the Springfield Sabres. Emma backstopped her team to a 2-1 series win by stopping 72 of 77 shots directed her way including a breakaway in the third period of their 2-1 victory and 2 phenomenal saves in the shoot out.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Selkirk Royals’ Nadia Zelych who had a hot hand in the qualifying series against the Beliveau Barracudas, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist in her team’s 6-2 first game victory, and scoring another 2 goals in the deciding second game.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Kelvin Clippers’ captain Carlyn Allary, who dismantled the River East Kodiaks defensive lines through slick stick work, and secured her team’s 5-0 victory with hot hands, popping in 2 goals and 2 assists.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Miles Mac Buckeyes’ goalie Grace Fedirchuk, who stood tall and stopped some scintillating shots to defeat the Sanford Sabres 2-1, and who continued her prowess the next day, stopping 22 shots to help defeat the SJR Eagles 4-1.
CTV Division: Congratulations to Fort Richmond Centurions’ Jordyn Zacharias who was on fire as she scored 3 goals and added 1 helper in their thrilling 6-5 win over the Westwood Warriors. The following day, Jordyn chipped in 2 goals and added 2 assists in a heart stopping 4-3 over time win against the SMA Flames.
WFP Division: Congratulations to PCI Saints’ MacKenzie van Aert who had a hot hand in the Saints 5-2 win over the West Kildonan Wolverines, scoring 2 goals and an assist. Two days later, MacKenzie played hard, smart hockey, helping her team beat the Selkirk Royals by a score of 5-0.
CTV Division: Congratulations to SMA Flames’ goaltender Danielle Bonot-Schmidt. Danielle had one of her strongest performances this season, back stopping her team to one of two wins this week. She battled through traffic, controlled her rebounds well and stopped 24 of 26 shots, many with high degrees of difficulty.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Shaftesbury Titans’ goaltender Sara Cusack, who back stopped her team to a 2-0 record this week. In game one, Sara made 23 saves early in the 5-2 win, and then she stood on her head in a hard fought 3-2 win stopping 42 of 44 shots.
CTV Division: CJS Olympiens’ goaltender Caroline Girardin who posted a shut out and allowed only one goal in her second game of the week leading to her teams two wins. Caroline made key saves at key times to to help preserve her teams leads.
WFP Division: WWHSHL congratulates Selkirk Royals’ goaltender Shayne Smellie who made 34 saves in her team’s lone win this week. Shayne finished the week 1-1 showing great poise in both games.
CTV Division: Congratulations to FRC Centurions’ Cassidy Mazur, who had 3 points including the game winner in OT early in the week. She followed up a couple days later scoring 2 short-handed goals on the same penalty to help her team to the win.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Beliveau Barracudas’ Signy Schellenberg on her incredible 3 goal game performance this week. Signy scored on the power play, short-handed and even strength for the first hat-trick of the season.
CTV Division: Congratulations to SMA Flames’ Ashley McFadden who led her team to two wins this week with 2 goals including the game winner. Later in the week, she added another goal and an assist for a stellar effort and a 4 point week.
WFP Division: Congratulations to Miles Mac Buckeyes’ Chase Kavanagh who had one assist early in the week in a win for her Buckeyes. Two days later, she scored the game tying goal late in the third period. Her hustle and ability to move the puck in both ends of the ice was superb.
