The WWHSHL Elite Team was formed in 2010 as a pilot program. The goal of the program is to create additional developmental and recruitment opportunities for League Players capable of competing at higher levels, who elect to pursue both a hockey and academic career at the post-secondary level. After the success of the pilot, the League decided to expand the program to half a season in 2011-12, ramping up to a full program in 2012-13.
ELITE TEAM 2011-12 COACHING STAFF:
We are pleased to announce this season’s Coaching Staff. The Head Coach is Katherine O’Rourke, currently part-time coach with the University of Manitobawomen’s hockey team, and former coach of teams including the AA Bantam Twins and the Midget Team Central at the 2010 Manitoba Winter Games. Assisting her are Sarah Stebeleski, Assistant Coach of the St. Norbert Celtics, and Lisa Kissick.
